Marketing with SEO Yoast

 

Today we are going over some basics in Search Engine Marketing (SEM), which is Search Engine Optimization (SEO) with Yoast plugin. In this example we are going to be up dating our pages content, title and description. The main purpose of this lesson is to effect the way your web page appear like the image below in google. There is a limit on characters you can use so you want to choose your words wisely.

 

This is not going to be a lesson on marketing and what words your should use. More info on that will be coming soon in another articles. But I will give you some tips. Also I am assuming you already have Yoast SEO already installed.

First you should:

–log into your back office

–click on Products, Post or Page depending on what you are trying to optimize.

Now you are looking for a section titled WordPress SEO by Yoast (Download it now if you don’t have it yet)

 

 

First you should decide on a Focus Keyword In this case it will be “SEO Yoast”.

My title has the keyword “SEO Yoast” in it and My description also has the exact term SEO Yoast in it.

When choosing your keyword but as specific as possible. This is a tutorial on how to do SEO with the help of a program call Yoast. After eliminating as many words as possible from the previous sentence I came up with “SEO Yoast”.

The title gives more info on what is inside on the page “Marketing 101 with SEO Yoast“. The description is a little more info about what is inside on the page but also a call to action. You want your description to get your visitor to view more and click on your link. Things like “click here, click the link and view more” will go a long way for getting people to click on your link.
